Who we are

Who we are is simple: we are a people ready to serve. Whether that is serving God, each other, or our community, we are committed to a life surround by love, humility, and servanthood.

Our Story

In 1933, a few families got together in Ferndale, MI with a dream to plant a church that valued community, holiness, and discipleship. That dream lives on today, 90 years later, in the form of Madison Heights Church of the Nazarene.

Through the last 90 years, our church has been through a lot of history, however, the thing that remained true is God's faithfulness to His people and His church.

MHNAZ is a part of the Church of the Nazarene. The Church of the Nazarene is a Wesleyan-Holiness denomination. This means that we believe in a Triune God, a Sacrificial Savior, and a continually working Holy Spirit. We believe that a person should pursue Holiness in their life, and that through that they can become "Entirely Sanctified". To learn more about our beliefs see the Articles of Faith in the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene at www.nazarene.org/manual.

MHNAZ can be defined by many things; holiness, community and discipleship being three of them. However, the word "Servant" is the word we seek earnestly after. To be servants of Christ, not only within our church, but in our local community as well. We believe our call is to "Serve God and Serve Others."
